Open The Light
Johnny Robles

October 17 – November 14, 2021
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

KDR305 presents Open The Light, an exhibition featuring new paintings by Miami artist Johnny Robles. The body of work stems from various mediums and techniques Robles uses to emulate a naturally occurring optical phenomenon.

Scientifically known as a Glory Rainbow, the illusion materializes from tiny water droplets or mist in the atmosphere scattered by light from the sun or moon that reflects back towards the viewer, creating a saintly halo effect.

Open the Light is a reference to the sense of peace and openness the paintings emanate. Robles carefully chose each color based on the visual sensitivity and a responsive process to their interaction. The works represent Robles’ past and present interests with nature, color theory, and the spiritual realm.
